Altamonte Springs Chirpractor Says Pain Is Not Your Problem!

July 23rd, 2009. Published under Alternative Medicine. No Comments.

I often ask patients if pain is a good thing or a bad thing? The overwhelming response is that pain is a bad thing. Well it is a bad feeling, but not a bad thing. Pain is like a warning light on your car that is blinking, it is telling you that there is a problem that you need to take care of. If you don not choose to deal with it now, you will more than likely cause a larger problem and it will cost you more money down the road.

So pain is what motivates people to take action on their health problems. Unfortunately people base their health on how they feel. That is a bad plan. If you open a dictionary you will find health defined as: Health is 100% function, 100% of the time. Nowhere in that definition is there anything about how you feel.

The good thing about pain is that it is the last thing to come and the first thing to go away. The problem is that most people think that when the pain goes away, they go away. Never addressing or correcting the underlying problem. This leads to a roller coaster of visits, come in a bunch of times, not come in, come in a bunch of times, not come in, and on and on. They never get better. They spend more money.
I always tell patients that it is much easier and cheaper to prevent a problem and help you remain healthy, than it is to fix a problem that already exists, heaven forbid it is so bad that it has a name.

Those take significantly longer to fix, if that is actually possible, and they cost a lot more money. The problem that I see especially from men, (because they have the attitude of if it is not broke do not fix it!), they come in when the pain is so bad that there is little we can do to correct it. We are only able to provide temporary pain relief. That is no way to live. I tell them, I want some of your money, not all of it, just some of it, for the rest of your life, and I will keep you healthy and on the right track. I also find patients that do not want to get better. But that is a whole different topic all together.

I always ask people, do you want to be healthy or just not sick? Would you rather be pretty or just not ugly? Would you rather be rich or just not poor? Would you rather be smart or just not dumb? They usually get it after that.

The good thing about pain is that it is the last thing to come and the first thing to go away. The problem is that most people think that when the pain goes away, they go away. Never addressing or correcting the underlying problem. This leads to a roller coaster of visits, come in a bunch of times, not come in, come in a bunch of times, not come in and on and on.They never get better. They spend more money.

So we are in a constant battle with people to tell them what they need and give them what they want. When they get the big picture, they get it.
So the take home message here is that pain is not your problem,it is a nagging symptom, but it is not your problem. It is something that makes you take action, which enlightens you to an underlying problem. All pain, symptoms, and disease processes can be traced back to the spine and there you will find areas of interference in the nervous system caused by subluxations of the bones of the spine. That is your problem. It takes time to correct this situation, so be prepared. You can either correct it now and spend some money and time, or you can spend all your time and money later on correcting a condition. The choice is yours. I am just here to tell the story like it is. I will give you the info; it is up to you to decide how you want to handle it.
