Coldplay Tickets- UK Superstars

July 22nd, 2009. Published under Music. No Comments.

How did Coldplay secure a permanent position in Britain’s music elite? They wrote beautiful, simple songs that touched the heart of a nation. Get Coldplay tickets and see the UK superstars. The group members include guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion, and lead singer Chris Martin. The band’s songs face inevitable sadness and yearning. Songs like the remorseful “Trouble,” exhibited a memorable piano-line while “Yellow” featured a hybrid of lyrics that can be described as joyful and remorseful all in one track. Martin summed up what the band tries to accomplish in each song when he said, “We want the song to reflect reality.” The group might have happened at the speed of light, but it wasn’t a walk in the park.

The members of Coldplay met in 1996 during their first week of college (University College London). Two and a half years later, the band had their first session in Jonny’s bedroom. Jonny and Chris had been working on songs since they met, but Will and Guy were not around much until the latter joined the group just before dropping out of engineering school. Jonny and Chris continued their education while pursuing music. Will, who also continued his studies, loved playing the guitar but was persuaded to become Coldplay’s drummer so the band could perform their first gig at a festival in Manchester, where unsigned artists got together. The group had six songs written, which included “High Speed” and “Don’t Panic” (now found on Parachutes album).

Coldplay released 500 copies of an EP called Safety and released the single “Brothers And Sisters” on a small English label called Fierce Panda, right after their first gig in Manchester. In 1999, the UK label, Parlophone, signed Coldplay and the rest is history. The band went into the studio with co-producer and engineer Ken Nelson to record their successful album Parachutes. Coldplay made an agreement that nothing would go on the record unless they all were in favor of it. No one would have thought that Parachutes would debut at number one and remain in the Top Ten Charts for a whole year. After Parachutes soared to the top of the charts, the group was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize, received the Q Award for Best Album, signed to an American label, and was worn out from the endless touring.

Even after great fame and fortune, the members of Coldplay remain restrained from talking about themselves. Their credo is “those who say less tend to be wiser.” However, their music tends to speak louder than any words spoken. Chris acknowledges that the last cut on the album Parachutes, “Everything’s Not Lost,” is the message of Coldplay’s entire work. The song says that when something happens to you in life, your first reaction is to think everything is horrible. Coldplay says what’s the point? The group continued to say then you realize that life isn’t that bad, and you have to keep going forward. You come to realize life is good. In 2001, the UK superstars made their first-ever American tour.
