My daughter has been so excited lately. About two weeks ago my friend gave her a gift of a friendship bracelet starter Kit. It consists of various patterns and materials to get you started on making friendship bracelets. I’m so excited for her because this is something I also done when I was her age. My mom had also bought me a starter kit for my birthday. In the beginning I found it quite difficult to comprehend and understand how to make the bracelets. I think I was basically stuck on the knots as most of the time I was tying these around my finger and constantly making mistakes while doing simple patterns.
My mom spent time with me as we went through each and every pattern step-by-step. Once I understood the basics and fundamentals it then became easier to have a comprehension of more complicated patterns. My daughter has been the exact same in the beginning she found it confusing, but we have spent time together going over everything and it’s amazing how much I actually remember from when I done this when I was her age.
It’s great to spend time with your daughter completing tasks together. She gave her first bracelets to Beckys daughter and she was so excited to receive it. The funny thing is Becky and I have been friends since we were young and she was the first person I gave a friendship bracelet to when I made one. After all these years we are still friends and even our daughters are friends. It’s true what they say that friendships can last forever.
Nowadays it is much easier for people to get started. The amount of information that is available on the Internet is incredible. When I started everything was in books and it could be an expensive hobby if you had to purchase every single one of them. I spent lots of time in my local library and in Mr. Johnson’s bookstore trying to memorize everything without having to make a purchase. My torture has been using YouTube, which enables her to see exactly how things are done and can go back and forth as often as she wishes.
