How Do You Choose Your Lingerie?

July 14th, 2009. Published under Clothing. No Comments.

Does any take any notice of the fashion gurus who insist on women wearing matching under wear, or those who say it doesn’t matter if you wear that is unattractive as long as it pulls your in, hides your tummy, boosts your bust and slims your thighs?

The world of fashion appears to have two sides to this dilemma, on one hand they are saying wearing pretty, sexy and coordinating lingerie will make you feel more attractive, which will in turn boost your confidence and make you look good to others. On the other hand there are those who say as long as your magic knickers do the trick it is really irrelevant what they look like once you take your clothes off!

The best compromise would be pretty lingerie which also helps those who need to flatten their tummies and cinch in their waists! For most women they have three different types of lingerie in their cupboards. Things they wear for comfort and practicality, other sets which are sexy and coordinating and then the reserve stock, which is usually pushed to the back of the draw or hidden under prettier items and these of course are the bras and knickers which give them instant slim waists or thighs!

For those who are past caring any more, only have practicality in mind! You only have to look at the average British high streets stores to see that the number of women who wear pretty sexy undies all day and everyday are out numbered by those who prefer the comfort of full size knickers made of cotton and bras which do their job of supporting their bust and nothing more!

In the ideal world we should not be compromising on practicality without giving serious consideration to style. The combination of the two will not only be more comfortable but will also make you feel good and when you feel good, you will look good the two go hand in hand!

Opt for lingerie which suits it purpose, for example if you want to wear a clingy jersey dress then you should opt for seamless styles under wear which does not leave you looking crumpled with bra and pant lines clearly showing. Slips which have built in bras and skim down over your body are ideal!

Likewise if you have an ample bosom make sure it is supported correctly. Studies have shown that as many as two out of every women wears the wrong bra size! If you want to help your bust stay where it is meant to be rather than going under the knife, which is a bit drastic for most women, measure your bust size properly and wear a bra which serves its purpose, which is to support your bust and not let it head south to spend the rest of its days laying on your stomach!

Sound a bit harsh? Take a look around the next time you are out shopping at the number of women who need to wear plus size lingerie which supports them properly or those who still believe in the ‘burn the bra’ and don’t even wear a bra although they have large busts! If nothing else it may make you smile!
