Layering Is A Cost effective Way Of Using Summer Clothes In Autumn!

Summer may not be over yet, however the fashion designers launched their autumn/winter ranges months ago. In typical fashion tradition the high street and online clothing retailers have whipped away their summer clothes and are stocking their shelves with the latest autumn clothes ready for the impending cool days and chilly nips in the air!
This is a great time to look for summer clothes, especially if you haven’t had your holiday yet, as many sales and bargains can be found. Try to resist the temptation to buy everything just because the price tag has been reduced because next year whole new trends will emerge and the clothes may not be in trend come next summer!
Rather than put away your shorts you could wear them with thick denier tights in a bold or contrasting colour or team with patterned leggings, which is a great way to keep warm and yet not quite make the transfer from summer to autumn! Wear blazers or jackets with the sleeves pushed up to the elbows for a smart, yet casual, look, along with swapping flip flops and summer sandals for the latest designers in shoes and ankle boots.
Layering is another great way to look trendy and keep warm without covering your figure altogether. Soft layers of tee shirts or fine knits are the ideal combinations, along with the very in-vogue look of wearing a cardigan with a pretty floral dress.
If you are impressed by the French look, add scarves to your outfits as it is surprising how warm they will keep you! Look for alternative ways to wear and tie them to add interest to your outfits with swathing yourself in too many thick layers. This is especially important if you have a fuller figure as adding bulk will only make you look and feel much bigger than you are in reality.
The same principles can be applied to dresses and skirts. Wear them with leggings or thick tights and trendy ankle boots. These additional items are also a good way to inject colour into your outfits in a subtle, yet trendy way. Team gun metal greys with pink tights for a look which is chic and stylish or opt for black or chocolate brown tights when wearing a teal, blue or red skirt or top.
Finding a style which suits your personality, body shape and the occasion can be fun! So rather than buy a completely new plus size clothes for the autumn, use what you already have and just add an extra layer. Tights, leggings or trousers with dresses and skirts are a very cost effective way of bringing your wardrobe right up to date without making too much of a hole in your purse!
