Wynonna Judd Tickets - Wynonna Performs To Celebrate Alli

July 22nd, 2009. Published under Music. No Comments.

Wynonna Judd has been a darling of Nashville for the last several years, but for most of her life she has also struggled with her weight. Lately, she has been trying a new method called Alli and has found much success in her weight-loss endeavor. To celebrate her success, which has seen her drop two dress sizes, Wynonna decided to put on a show at the Country Music Hall of Fame. That show was for only 50 fans, each of whom won a spot through a sweepstakes.

Judd write on her website: “In the past few months, I’ve learned to look at weight loss with a fresh approach that includes better nutrition, exercise, and emotional support. I am so encouraged by my progress and am loving the way I feel. I was thrilled to perform for and fellowship with an audience that is also working toward a healthier way of living.”

Alli is a diet aid that is available over the counter and is approved by the FDA. Judd has been using the aid since January 2009 and has been coupling it with a healthy diet and exercise. She will need all the energy she can get this summer as she will be performing around the country, with stops in Houston, Texas; Saratoga, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. Wynonna has numerous fans in the country scene, meaning these dates are sure to be popular. Luckily, Wynonna Judd tickets are available online.

Wynonna has quite the history, starting from the day she entered the world. Her mother, Naomi Judd, got pregnant as a teen while living in Kentucky and married Michael Ciminella. Ciminella was not Wynonna’s biological father, but she was still given the name Christina Ciminella at birth in 1964. In 1968, the young family moved to Los Angeles and also added a new member, sister Ashley Judd. Unfortunately for the budding family, the marriage ended in 1972. Wynonna, her sister and her mother stayed in California on welfare for the next few years before Naomi made the decision to move the trio back to Kentucky.

They lived there without many amenities like a phone or television, but it developed a love for music in the whole family, especially country music. Wynonna easily picked up the guitar and soon started making music with her mother. The family moved to Nashville by the end of the decade to try the duo’s luck, eventually landing a record deal as the Judds in 1983. Naomi and Wynonna quickly became staples of the country scene, combining a down-home feel with their smooth and captivating harmonies.

Naomi was ready to retire in the early 1990s, pushing Wynonna to start out on a solo career. She released her self-titled debut album in 1992, topping the country charts with singles like “She Is His Only Need” and “No One Else on Earth.” She followed with Tell Me Why in 1993, another massive success. She drew the ire of conservative country fans when she gave birth to a child out of wedlock but she eventually married the father and quieted criticisms (although the union wouldn’t last).

Wynonna stayed in the charts throughout the 1990s into the 2000s with singles like “To Be Loved By You,” “When Love Starts Talkin’,” “Heaven Help Me” and “What the World Needs.” More recently, she found chart success with a 2007 Christmas album and a genre-bending standards and cover album, Sing: Chapter 1, in 2009.
